Since September 2023, Four Legs Good has operated the RG CARES (Center for Animal Rescue and Educational Services) Animal Shelter in partnership with Rockland County. It is one of the largest animal care facilities in the county.
Under our management, the shelter has undergone a dramatic operational overhaul: new cleaning standards, prioritized play and socialization time, rebuilt relationships with local shelters and veterinarians, and a commitment to treating every animal as an individual with their own needs and personality.
We care for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and other small animals. Every animal receives veterinary care, proper nutrition, enrichment, and the time it takes to find them the right home.

Every animal receives a full veterinary exam, vaccinations, and any necessary medical treatment. Spay/neuter is included with all adoptions.
Proper nutrition tailored to each animal's needs. We work with veterinarians to ensure every animal is on the right diet for their health and age.
Daily play time, socialization with volunteers, and environmental enrichment keep animals mentally and physically healthy while they wait for their forever home.
Our application and interview process ensures every animal goes to a home that fits. We match animals to lifestyles, not impulses.

RG CARES stands for Center for Animal Rescue and Educational Services. The facility is operated by Four Legs Good under contract with Rockland Green, the county's solid waste and environmental services authority. Together, we provide Rockland County with professional, compassionate animal sheltering services.
