A voice for the voiceless in Rockland County and beyond.
Four Legs Good, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing the most humane treatment of Rockland County animals in need. We started as a small group of dedicated volunteers who decided to make a difference in the lives of feral, homeless, and abandoned animals.
Our mission is to promote the well-being of homeless and abandoned animals by being a strong voice for animal rights against cruelty, injustice, and mistreatment, while supporting the use of humane methods of managing community animals.
We provide a safe and healthy place for animals to be taken in and given shelter, food, and medical care, along with TNVR and educational assistance to the community. Our organization is built on dedicated volunteer support that stretches every dollar to directly benefit the animals in our care.
Every animal that comes through our doors gets a chance. We are a no-kill shelter. We believe in second chances, not second guessing.
Every potential adopter goes through a thoughtful application and in-person interview. Our goal is to set each animal and family up for success, so every adoption is truly forever.
If for any reason an adoption doesn't work out, the animal comes back to us. No animal is abandoned twice.
Since taking over shelter operations in September 2023, we've overhauled how animals are cared for in Rockland County.
New cleaning protocols, proper nutrition, and individualized attention for every animal. The shelter is clean, organized, and welcoming.
Daily enrichment, play time, and socialization are priorities, not afterthoughts. Well-socialized animals get adopted faster and adjust better.
Rebuilt relationships with local veterinarians, rescue groups, and community organizations. We work together because the animals benefit.
Every adopter completes an application and in-person interview. We match animals to lifestyles, not impulses. Our goal is forever homes.
Replaced the old trap-and-euthanize approach for feral cats with a comprehensive Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return program.
School visits, public outreach, and resources for pet owners. We teach responsible pet ownership and how to help animals in need.
